console market has gone crazy.

This is a massive 400% graphics power boost over the current xbox1, its a bigger jump than you normally get on major new console releases, it seems inevitable within a few years I think new xbox games will be exclusive to this new model. I think the game plan for both sony and microsoft (even tho they wont admit it now) will be to phase out and forget about the existing gen which has seemed to be a disaster for them even tho they had reasonable sales of the hardware.

timey assuming you got no intention still of getting a pc and plan to carry on playing xbox games, then yeah I would sell your xbox1 before this gets released and then buy the new model.

I have decided to not ditch ps4 but I dont know what move to make. As I think sony will eventually approve ps4 neo exclusive games. What seems most likely for me right now giving I am tightening my purse strings, is I will keep the ps4 I got and just ignore any ps4 neo exclusive titles, this is of course hoping the ps4 variants of the games play reasonably well.

I wonder if there will be any decent games?

Imagine UC4 on your PC mate? That would make a Neo worthwhile all on its own I reckon!

There is a couple coming out that I think will be good but its still only a trickle, I also think they will make the pc after the console version has been released.

400% graphics boost you say,not really looked at the specifications or really analysed it.

What i don't get is announcing the Slim and then a few minutes later announcing the Scorpio........That didn't make sense to me ? and has to impact on Slim sales whatever way you look at it.

Sony no show with the Neo,given they were first to start this so called console upgrade war.

Also take what microsoft say with a pinch of salt, they still want existing stocks of models to be sold at full price remember.

Only a month ago they were claiming they had no interest in replacing the current model.

Im talking about the Xbox One S not the Scorpio late 2017,the thread was about the Slim and thats not 4 times more powerful.

ok fair enough, then I think the S is not worth buying if you already have the stock model.

You dont need to buy an entire new console just to upgrade the hdd capacity.

I don't need to upgrade my mobile phone every 2 years but i do because of the technical aspects move on at such a rapid pace.

It's a bit more than the HDD capacity.. it has 4k playback and HDR, from what I've read it is a very good price for a 4k player. It is smaller and looks great - important to some people.

I have the white Xbox One that came with a game and absolutely love the look of it. Do I have to buy a new TV or projector to enjoy HDR or does the console provide a better experience without anything extra?

I think it would only make a difference if you have a TV capable of HDR.

Some more on that here. You also have to [currently] pick the right format apparently, "HDR10" and not the Dolby equivalent.

Watch past the 4K argument to find out more about it. Maybe kila and Timey can vouch as to how much difference 4K makes on different screen sizes?
