Battlefield One

Had a quick try with the beta. DICE do like re-using old code - this time from Battlefront. Same menu layout (finally Battlelog is optional now) and general UI layout.

Graphics are okay, nothing particularly outstanding (BF4 is much better in that regard). Had a quick drive of a tank and a horse.

Rather sluggish game with dubious players too (obviously cheats are out now).

Very meh, and quite skippable (or stay with BF4 or even 3).

Dont think its really a suitable idea for a game anyway.

It's only the Beta so it will get better

Why don't you like the idea of a WW1 game?


I found the gun positions in the vehicles were very hard to aim with especially when they were being driven over rough ground, But that would be realistic

Aside from the subject matter, I prefer games with more advanced weaponary

The objective names are funny : Objective Apple and Banana... What am I doing, setting up a fruit store?

It's a war game. Is there a difference between war past present or future?

Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc. are from the NATO phonetic alphabet used since 1956. During WW1 (1914-18) these were genuine phonetics used.

Yeah - present onwards has much better weaponary!

Its a game to avoid. I've un-installed it now. Don't want it darkening my hard drive ever again.

whats you pc specs toad, get a bit of stutter myself but that was bad lol.

Its the classic Frostbite stutter if you do some searches been about since bf3

I see what they mean by similar to star wars now, it does have that feel about it

Might just be his video capture settings, I think he's mentioned this before!

PlayClaw is very intensive (and, like Fraps is no longer being developed by the look of things). I would have used Fraps, but no longer have the account password for it.

It is better without it, of course, but its not the bet. BF4 is far better... Looks like only the latest computers will be able to run it.

This machine is 16GB RAM, 2.1Ghz nVidia GTS 450.
