Almost here. Haven't really looked into it but I see there are two versions
Digital Edition & Standard PS5
You need standard if you have PS4 discs you'd like to use


It says it's backward compatible and that you can play PS4 games


Just wondering if I'll be able to play BF1 online on the PS5?

Same here. I'll go for the digital edition when I do get one, but I'm hoping for confirmation on a couple of games being compatible first. Wreckfest and No Man's Sky.

Xbox Series X is released 10th November

Have my confirmed Day One order for the standard edition.

Me neither, for the first time ever, but to be honest I haven't been blown away by the launch titles this time round.

What games are you pondering on for launch? The new Horizon Zero Dawn will be good if it doesn't wander too far from the original. The premise and the gameplay were excellent first time round, even though the story was a little meh. More of the same would suit me. Can't think of anything else that's excited me since the announcement to be honest.

Only game I have on pro-order at the moment is the Lego Skywalker Saga, but that is not out till next year.
Will get Fortnite, as the grandson likes playing that, and probably Sackboy. Will get some other game/s nearer the time. Just waiting to see if any discounts or deals appear nearer release time.
Still have some PS4 games to finish, which I hope I am able to transfer over to the PS5, if not I will just have to leave the PS4 connected for the time being till I finish them and will finally get to remove the PS3, grandson still plays the Lego & Minecraft games on this.

Worth buying just to play Astro's Playroom, the DualSense 5 is a game changer.

All my PS4 games are digital anyway so they now just load off an external HDD and play just like they did on the PS4 (albeit with with improved frames rates etc.)

I must have been very lucky, i didn't pre-order one, i went to Shopto registered my interest in one and it turned up 3 days later, this was at the end of November.

Yeah Astro playroom is a real nostalgic trip back in time too!!

I can spend a quick 10 minutes just turning the PSOne on and off just to listen to and watch the boot sequence lol

According to kila the new controller's haptic feedback triggers really are something special on driving games, which is good to hear. But yeah, I'm not in any rush to pay over the odds for one.

Prevent/deter the buying and reselling of goods/services at inflated prices.

I believe it to be an unfair and unjust practice that well funded groups/individuals can deplete the stock of a single item and make it unaffordable/unavailable to the average consumer. I believe the law around this practice needs to be reviewed and measures to prevent it need to be introduced.

This practice is most prevalent in the buying and re-selling of event tickets but also has a significant impact on the sales of trainers/clothes and technology. The most recent case in point is the launch of the PlayStation 5 and X Box Series X consoles. Both pre-orders and launch day stock were sold out instantaneously and then thousands of listings appeared on eBay at over double the RRP. A reseller group claimed to have been able to secure 3500 of these.

The controller alone makes the console worth having IMO, the UI takes a bit of getting used to but all very slick and snappy!
Load times of PS5 games are ridiculous, another neat thing is that there are quite a few games that are cross gen so if you own/buy the PS4 version you'll also own the PS5 version.

Can you play together in multiplayer with cross play PS4 and PS5 titles, like you could do by downloading it on to two PS4s? That's the main reason I download instead of buying the physical discs anymore.
