I presume you are playing the console version? Much as I now have a PC that is capable of playing these games, I still think I prefer that format to PC? What's your thoughts, gameplay wise?

I hope COD MW3 is an improvement, in my opinion, I think it will probably be the same old same old. Will I buy it? Dunno will probably get pressured of my son I`m sure.

Its funny my lad hated BLOPs as well and actually preferred BF2BC when I let him have a shot. Maybe these sort of games have now run their course and its really only the diehards that will but it.

I hated BLOPS with a passion for it's MP. I just played combat training mostly as a way to avoid the [censored] lag. It reminded me of playing TimeSplitters on the PS2 and enjoying the Bot bashing! Then Treyarch patched something and cocked that up.

I think these games are both done really until the next gen consoles arrive. COD needs more graphical prowess and BF needs frame rate. As gamers we tend to live within our means. But for me BF3 has shown what it could be on the PC, and that has taken the edge off it for me on the PS3. Expectations and all that.

I love the gameplay, but at 40 years old with 20+ years of building site grit and dust being blown into the face, I struggle with the visuals a little! And I do find that effects the way I play the game.

When you need to concentrate a lot harder on spotting and taking down enemies, you could do with the visuals being sharper. For example, I love the fact you don't have red markers above the enemies head. You have to find him just by knowing he is somewhere near by using the map. But that can be a bit straining sometimes in the built up areas.

Apart from the swing when trying to sight up, I love the way it handles. If it handled like COD I think I would be entirely converted. Maybe next gen. grin

What about you?

Well being 40yrs old smile myself I have come to prefer my Xbox but that's only down to the fact that I stopped PC gaming due to the expense required to keep it up to date. However I got some money for my birthday this year and decided to build a semi decent rig. BF3 played ok but I`m just not used to a mouse and keyboard now. I think if I got the console versions of these games I reckon they would get more play time, the PC is shared with the 2 older boys :/ so game time limited a wee bit. Besides WoW keeps me busy on the PC laugh

In that case there are many millions of diehard that will buy it ? and lets be sensible here when COD 4 MW was released the majority raved about it and it was a excellent game as was MW2 except the fact that it was hacked to death on the playstation which ruined a otherwise brilliant online gaming experience for many millions.

My only real concern for MW3 is that they address these issues if well known glitches appear and hackers become prolific .

Infinity Ward or what is left of them totally ignored MW2 and that was there biggest downfall.

As for calling it a polished turd then imagine the uproar on here if i had made similar comments about Battlefield 3.

To call any MW game a polished turd shows that you know nothing about what many millions of people think is a great game.

I have been posting on here about games for about 8 years now and if a game comes out and does not appeal to me or has serious flaws and does not live up to the previews and the hype i will slaughter it regardless of what type of game it is.

Why change whats not broken and was one of the biggest FPS of all time, yes you could knock the fact that they are still using a old engine and churning out MW3 and call it 2.5 or whatever people that have a hatred towards cod want to call it.

There are many on here and most gaming sites that absolutely slaughter Cod games and the same people that will be at the shop on release day regardless.

If this was a Xbox 720 or a Playstation 4 i would probably moan about the fact that there is not much of a advance in the graphics from the original MW.

But from what i have seen the graphics look fine and MW is a combination of many things, a really solid single player experience full of intense set pieces and a frantic online multiplayer experience that will keep most of us occupied for many months if not years until the next installment.

Then you also have Spec Ops which is a lot of fun and a new mode called Survival and if this is anywhere near like Horde Mode in gears 3 which it will be then for this alone i would have paid £40.

Its about how much fun a game brings you be it Battlefield or MW or any other game and for me MW ticks all the right boxes and for others its Battlefield.wink

I have to admit i liked Demolition on Black Ops after my mate keep raving about it but for me MW is where it is and i was quite frankly disappointed in Black Ops.

But knowing a thing or two about games in general i kind of expected this because i thought the previous developed World of War from Treyarch was total rubbish and that was a Cod game i hated with a passion.

MW set a benchmark and so did MW2 so how can you change something that they nailed in the first place apart from updating the graphic engine.

What do the people who disliked MW so much want to see as changes, yep the kill streaks were over powered agree with that one but in MW3 they are suppose to be more balanced.

Yeah getting knifed from 20 feet away is ridiculous that has been addressed and so has the reward system in the first place as Kill Streaks now become Strike Package with 3 different types tailored to how you best want to play.wink

Oh well in little over a week we will see what the likes of me and you have to say and rest assured if this game does not do it for me and i very much doubt it i will tear it to shreds.mad

I think he's been fairly balanced in his criticism to be honest. He doesn't have to like battlefield games. And I'd rather he doesn't keep his opinion to himself if he loves MW3. With the amount of games he buys, he will know a thing or two about how they handle. Replying to posts is easier than starting them on the gaming forum (or so it would seem).

I'm strictly in the middle concerning both these games. I'm enjoying BF3, but it's controls benefit mouse play so I won't find it as responsive as a PC gamer might. That's constructive criticism from somebody who will continue to play and enjoy the game. But it's ok it seems for a PC gamer to post that we don't deserve better as console gamers? Not really is it. If I posted that I would be accused of being a COD fanboy.

COD won't be a polished turd, because it wasn't a turd in the first place. It may not be revolutionary but that is a completely different argument. Tomato ketchup is a not a particularly cosmopolitan sauce. But that doesnt mean millions and millions of people must be under the evil influence if the Heinz corporation (and let's face it, it has to be Heinz).

Same thing goes for COD. Unless of course you can prove Actvision faked the moon landings. I wouldnt put it past them mind. That last zombie map may have been based on inside information? tongue

Well spoken mate and well written view .wink

You're not wrong about the cost, but even if I had the dough I probably still wouldn't have the time. I think die hard pc gamers fail to realise that owning a console doesn't make you a casual. I'm as competitive as the next guy.

Consoles are a better fit for people with limited time to game. If I wasn't self employed (out quoting or doing paperwork most evenings and weekends) I would be well up for a nice top end PC. Why wouldn't I? The graphics are amazing.

But even then I'd have to find a way to pay for it. frown

COD Blops - XBox was better than PS3, owned both, and blops got a good 5 months of play. Finding enjoyable games got harder in time.

Perhaps the like for BF3 is its different to COD, i.e. play one or the other for a few months.

The campaign was over in one long afternoon of play, and had some good visuals, but nothing jaw dropping. Have been more impressed with little bits in the multiplayer.

Yes Black ops ran as smooth as silk on the Xbox network and was a shambles on the PSN network as i also had both.

Another reason why i think the xbox live as a paid service is by far superior to a free one and another reason why games such as MW3 will be on my platform of choice and that from now is the 360.

Not so worried about games like saints row 3rd and similar games that are not really so online focussed but any game such as Battlefield,MW then there is only one option and Sony have to sort out the online structure because it is so poor compared to Xbox live.

And if that is not enough then take the multi platform games and the fact the the xbox version is always the better version and you have to ask yourself a question..............Why is this when the playstation in all honesty has the edge when it comes to hardware yet developers can not seem to get the best out of it except the likes of naughty Dog and Uncharted that seem to be on a different planet to the rest when they make games that look this good.
