Speed Profile

[link to this post]

Evening

can somebody just confirm the results of the BT speedtest for me

IP profile 6500kbs

IP throughput 4367

Does this mean I could get 6500kbs but AOL have throttled to 4367kbs or is my most stable speed 4367??

thanks

Lisa J

On a 6500kbps profile, you can expect a maximum usable speed of around 6200-6300kbps.
The difference between that and the 4367kbps could well be down to exchange (and/or ISP) contention.
Best bet is to try well off-peak (something like 1am - 9am), to see what sort of speed you'll get without being affected too much by contention.
Also note some speedtesters don't always give reliable results (although the new BT beta tester seems a lot mor consistent than the old one).

Giving UKFSN/Entanet a try
DL Sync 4600+ (now 2464 and screwed up by pointless 15db SNR target)
UL Sync 448
