anti virus free downloads

hi all don't know if this is in the right place, looking for a free anti virus program, having trouble with the updates with AVG so thought a change was on the cards.

In a recent review of anti virus software PCPro recommended Avira as the best free one.

I've been using Kaspersky IS6 and now KIS7 (not free) which contains the antivirus software for a while and have had no problems as yet.
Easy to work with and doesn't slow down my BB or computer like a previous IS product did.
