Independent Domain / Email suppliers

[link to this post]

It looks as though Orange have deleted my old fsnet email address that I use for all general email use. Customer services are telling me that the account is suspended and their tool for unsuspending accounts is broken at the moment. However, searching on Google suggests that they are closing accounts with no notification.

Whatever the truth is, it has motivated me to consider purchasing a second domain name.

I already have a domain and email service from 1&1that I use for friends and family and is spam free. However I was wondering whether anybody had any other recommendations, e.g Purplecloud.

Any help appreciated.

Only been using Purple Cloud for a short while but service seems to be pretty decent thus far.

I tried PurpleCloud but their basic service only lets you forward all mail addressed to your domain to one physical mailbox, so it was no good for me as I need separate mailboxes for me, the wife and the kids. Of course I could have paid more for this ability but I'm a skinflint; others like 1&1 give you that for free with the domain name.

Regards,
Steve

Just noticed that their email services have a bandwidth limit unlike 1&1. No idea how much I use, but the thought of soemone sending several photos as attachments makes me very nervous of using their basic email service.

On the plus side, 1&1 technical and customer support isn't brilliant and I suspect other suppliers like Purplecloud must be much better.
