deciBels or Dekabels?

There is a difference ...

10dB = 1 B

10B = 1DB

Sorry, I have been getting a bit strong. I don't disapprove of what you are trying to do.

But please re-read your own post re your knowledge of DSL, PHP, mathematical ability and logic in the tool.

I see no harm in you trying to get the tool working and will happily give feedback on that if I see something that hasn't already been commented on. But maybe you should stop giving actual advice to others until you have got yourself up to a higher standard of knowledge on DSL? Particularly the difference between SNR and SNRM?

The FAQs available on the main site here, the explanations at DSLZone and Kitz and others are very good. Once you have assimilated those, and spotted where at least one of them is out of date, then your own wording of how it works should be fine.

And please work out how to reply to the post you are answering, not just hit Reply on the latest post in the thread .

??????????????

Are you saying your phone line is with Talk Talk? If so then I think the answer is yes.

You could also ask F2S though whether you have been moved to the Tiscali LLU network. If you have, at least we can be fairly sure the problem is associated with the move. Getting that sorted by Openreach if it is a Talk Talk line connecting to you through a Tiscali DSLAM is not something I would fancy.

This particular comment may be a difference in terminology a "Full Install" is what is used to refer to a filter that is installed by the Telco (as apposed to little filters that you install yourself). I had taken the term "runs from a adsl faceplate" to refer to this

I will take a time to adjust to the UK terminology, and the routers that are used there appear to report slightly different results to the standard modems that I am familar with.

It won't happen overnight but I expect to adjust to the new language - and if I get stuck I will send a private message or do more research before posting. Might be best for me to lurk for a while longer, or stick to my old forums. :-)
