JD's Auto Speed Tester, finished.

[link to this post]

Hi,

If your speeds are looking a bit sad during peek times or you think you might have a problem maybe my finished app can help you to keep an eye on what's going on over the course of a day/week/month, It can help you with all the data you need to make a complaint (although BT speed tester is often required, this is as accurate), screenshots of graph & CSV file of data.

ScreenShot :-

it does a little test before it starts, if your getting lower than 1Mb/s approx it uses a 5MB file if above then a 10MB file, i might add a 20MB file for peeps above 8Mb/s connections but as i am only on 8Mb atm i haven't done so, however i believe that even at 20Mb/s a 10MB file is adequate.

I get strange results - e.g. 9617.50 Kbps from TBB and 1315 Kb/s from yours. Maybe you're measuring in KB/s?

hmm. it's all been checked and is right in its computations. im using the TBB test dl files to test with and i havent had any1 else say this.

can you post a screen shot & also check that the TBB dl file 10MB is dling ok for you.

maybe a pos that the TBB test files are not up to having so many peeps using it but i wouldn't have thought so.

mine is still dl'ing at 6Mb/s , right at this time of day

Something wrong with the TBB test files - when I download them directly I get similar results to your app. However, the TBB speed test is a lot faster.

Also, if I d/l the Zen test files I get max speed.
