21CN WBC exchange > node map

I've generated a live map showing both the 21CN WBC enabled and planned exchanges along with their node mapping.

* warning - open in Firefox (or anything but IE as IE struggles on an intensive google map, you have been warned in case IE crashes...) *

What you will notice is that a green circle = 21CN enabled and yellow = 21CN planned. You will also see that there are lines that branch out from each node to their connected exchanges, giving you an overall view of node > exchange mappings (of which there are some very odd ones!)


I think the oddest mappings I've seen are:

There are a few exchanges north of Glasgow that go all the way down to Preston!

Most of NI goes to Glasgow but a lot also to Newcastle on the East coast of England...

Middleton (north manchester) goes to Wolverhampton...

There are a lot of exchanges in Glasgow that go back to Edinburgh and vice versa...

So, that's basically it. Any comments, suggestions? Just ask and I'll see what can be done.

It crashes my Firefox too.

Worked fine in Firefox on my MacBook Pro.

It hasn't crashed IE8 on my laptop yet but things

Update:It's fine. It's loaded and rendered. Laptop is back to normal as well. Just took a while.

So meeeeehhhhh! To Firefox users if it crashed their browser

I don't know what the Google rules are but could you not generate it as a png every hour or so. It would be a lot less load on my poor laptop.

Oh boy that was slow, I use Ff2, but it was so slow.
Ok, so our exchange will use a node in Brummie land, so what advantage or disadvantage will it make?

That is cool - opened fine in Safari.

The map would be a lot neater if you figured out the regional tier1 pops and just linked all the sub exchanges to them then those tier1s to the core pops.
