BT Broadband Helpdesk

[link to this post]

How many other people do not want to speak to the staff on the BT Broadband support desk. I don't know if I've been unlucky or not. But everyone of the people I've spoken to is in an Indian call centre. Over the past few day's I've been trying my luck and tried to find out when BT might upgrade me to the new 20 Mbps service. The Staff on the normal 0800 800 150 they say you'll get an e-mail when it's ready. However the BT Broadband support line say they can't help but call 0800 800 150 and they can organise an upgrade. I wouldn't mind but when I've requested info from BT Broadband support I've requested to be called between certain hour. The last time I contacted them was today and requested that I could be contacted between 9 - 11 pm Sat/Sun/Mon (inc dates) on my mobile. But guess what - 6 calls to my mobile today while I was in work (no signal for my mobile) and 16 calls to my house number. In the last 30 minutes I did get another call from BT and when asked if the staff member read my e-mail/query they responded by saying yes(ie it;s still friday and don't call) but they thought that they would call anyway. I then asked for the staff members full name and staff number and their managers name as I wished to complain - guess what they hung up!!!

This "upgrade" may not actually be an upgrade in terms of speed or reliability.

Check here for details of when your exchange is to be upgraded: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php
