sync speed query

[link to this post]

Hi Peeps..

justa quick question..

these are the stats from our BT business hub..
DSL Line (Wire Pair): Line 1 (inner pair)
Downstream Rate Cap: 8128 kbps
Downstream Atten. at 300kHz: 39.6 dB
Uncancelled Echo: 7.9 dB Suspicious - check phone filters and alarm
VCXO Frequency Offset: 14.8 ppm Ok
Final Rx Gain: 21.7 dB Ok
Impulse Noise Comp. Tones: 0 Ok
Excessive Impulse Noise: 0 Ok
Impulse noise protection: 1.01
Delay of latency path: 8.00 ms

the uncancelled echo was at 16db so we had a filter filtted to line and now its 7.9Db..

with the stats above what should our sync speed be..

we were getting 8128 before alarm installed but now its 3776 and still 3776 after filter fitted...

cheers for your help..

8128 with 39.6 dB attenuation is unlikely but you should do better than 3.7Mb. I'd have thought 6Mb, maybe 7Mb.

But I'm not sure about alarms and ADSL - have a read here:
