Sky phone line problem

[link to this post]

I know this isn't a broadband problem but it is stopping me getting my broadband so any assistance is greatly appreciated.

So I have moved house...old house was on BT moved to new house and switched to Sky Talk line rental (due to BT wanting £125 for connection). The house has a BT master socket. Line was due to activate on Monday.

I have connected the phone directly to the BT test socket, when I call my number from my mobile it rings but the phone doesn't ring.

The line is dead and I cannot make outgoing calls. Sky say it is showing active on their system.

Any ideas? Does the fact the number rings mean that it is still connected to my old house - if a line is dead there would be no rings if someone calls it right?

Thanks for your help!

They (Sky) need to report a fault to Openreach to investigate if it is dead at the master /test socket (if you have one).

Are you saying the number is supposed to have been transferred?
