I signed up to their 10mb fone and tv. Max I got for the trial period of 28days was 2.4mb. Day of cancellation, I done speed test and and got <1mb. They said they will send engineer now to check, but I wasn't having it. They had a chance to sort out the problem when the phone and the tv were not working - took them 1 week. I was signing up for phone and broadband but I was offered TV for £5 extra, said I would get lots more channels. SInce I did not access to the net, I took their work for it. I can get the same number of channels through freeview - why was I sold something I was getting for free? So first I cancelled TV, Broadband and phone was working out more expensive (£6) than on a BT line of upto 8mb, so I cancelled that them too. I was told I would be sent a modem only as I was saying to the sales person, why not activate the broadband and tv with the equipement I already have in the premises i have moved into, and he its complicated and it doesn't work that way. I was sent a set-top box and a router, in their box of tricks I DID NOT ASK for and they wanted to charge me for it, if I did not send it back. They sent the modem, set-top box and router in 1 sealed box and 1 delivery. she said theysent two seperate deliveries. She then said someone would come and pick up the set-top box, and I said I will give them the whole box of tricks I had received it and it was going round in circles and she was getting angry and I too was arguing about it. Asked to speak to the manager, I was told the manager will ring me back and an hour later the phone is also dead, how is the manager meant to ring me back?????????
VM advetises high speed through fibre optic. BUT NO ONE WILL GET THE HIGH SPEED AS FIBRE DOES NOT COME TO YOUR PREMISES. And if it did, you will be charged al lot lot lot higher for the service. You get cooper wire to your premises same as BT lines and so there is a variation of speed, further away from the exchange, the slower it is.
This is the time when many people sign up for package deals, but be careful, record you conversation, as I did and when I mention this at the time of cancallation, wasn't interested in knowing what had been said, at the time of signing up. Bunch of lairs. I had virgin via BT years ago, service and realibility was bad and it hasn't changed. Emails to virgin took takes 5-7 days to reply. Being a PC enginner I DO NOT RECOMMEND VIRGIN TO ANY ONE and if someone did ask about VM I SAY THEM STAY WELL AWAY!!!!!!
