Do BTO only employ habitual LIARS ?

[link to this post]

I'm wondering if this is a question on the BTO job application ?

"Can you lie through your teeth and look convincing ?"

As many of you know, my business line has had problems with random line drops and instability since 9th July 2009, and BT have sent a whole procession of "engineers" "SFI's" and an "SFO" to try to find the problem. They have allegedly spent £10,000 replacing worn out cabling in my road, which has increased sync speeds a little, but has done nothing to improve my line stability, and I get anything between 1 and 15 line drops a day (usually in single figures). The net effect of this is that every time my line drops, the SNR margin gets jacked up by 3dB, and my BRAS suffers as a result. In all I must have had at least 40 BTO people here over a 4 month period.

Now, after BT had put in their new cabling, the line continued to be unstable, so BTO sent a couple of guys who spent a whole day here who pronounced "You shouldn't have any more trouble, Mr ----------, we've found you a nice pair on the cables, and your line is solid copper all the way back to the exchange."

Anyway, the latest SFO and his mate spent the day on the fault again yesterday, and after they had fiddled around for a few hours, I was told "I'm not surprised that you're having problems, you're on just about the worst pair of the lot on the ALUMINIUM cable".

What happened to the "solid copper all the way back" ? The pixies must have come in and stolen it ?

Of course, the irony is that the 1008 metres of aluminium cable was the first thing that they blamed the problems with my line on back in July, and said that they weren't going to replace it, and then went on to spend £10,000 on cabling elsewhere, and god knows how much on engineers time to achieve absolutely nothing !

YOU REALLY COULDN'T MAKE IT UP !

I think that is extremely unlikely, they probably are no worse than any other public facing company.

Well, on this very forum there was one, known as BTCare, who claimed that by 2010 ALL BT exchanges would be upgraded to its up-to 20mbps WBC-based service. That is, until I gave him the names of some towns from just my nearby area for which this simply won't be the case. It is not even easy to move premises because there is NO reliable way of finding out about the quality of needed telecom services, it is just a gamble each time you move.

Making notes ? Very droll ! When did BT ever make notes ?

I could tell BT more about the history of my line than they know themselves. Bunch of muppets !

Are you joking SystemX or do you genuinely think this:-
I cant see why they would speak to you at all

As far as I remember Zeb has had problems with the voice side of his line too, but regardless of this BT still have a role to play and have had direct contact (if i read the posts correctly) with him.
At the end of the day, it's no good if any company states one thing and actually does another. I think most of us here have faced some sort of hassle to differing degrees with companies who have an confused approach to the issue and this one of Zeb's appears no different and at the extreme end of the scale.

He is a customer of his ISP or whoever provides his phone service, not Openreach, who answer to their customers the retail providers.
