Speed Test

I've never had a problem previously using the speedtest. However, I now do not get the standard speed test page. I have the latest version of Java installed and operational so what could be the problem?

Which speed test - BT, thinkbroadband or another?

If BT, there is an older speed test which sometimes appears when the normal one is very busy or broken. It runs a download of a 1.7MB file.

If that's what you are seeing then the other should return in time. Have you tried the thinkbroadband one? I found it gives results very similar to the BT one, and you can also get a history and trend graph if you register on the main site. (You can use the same username and password as here).

What you don't get from it is your IP Profile, which only the normal BT one can supply.

Sorry, I should have made it clear that I was referring to the thinkbroadband speedtest rather than BT or, for that matter, any of the many other speed tests which are available.

I have no problem measuring the broadband speed I have available, I am simply puzzled as to why I can no longer run the thinkbroadband test with which I previously had no problem.

Delete and re-install the Java. The tbb tester is running fine.
