the extra VAT from Jan is a 25p/month per line tax approx, but not hypothecated.

I was speaking more as a whole - than just the line itself.

yep, the 2.5% cut didn't seem to do much so conversely the 2.5% hike will be a bit of a non-issue, still low in an EU context I think ?

Compared to some of the EU - maybe so.

However, we saw customers complain when it increased from 15 > 17.5, so we expect to see the same with this increase.

What did interest me is that no end date was given as with the first decrease.

VAT increase of the long haul - possibly.

it isn't a temporary measure unlike last time. Rate is typical of EU from table at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/10373992.stm

No it wasn't replaced by the VAT increase. The VAT increase won't be funding broadband. You are comparing apples with oranges.

Surely people do that quite legitimately all the time?

The most obvious example being when buying either, so as to avoid getting the other. The next most obvious being when deciding which to buy.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - O2 Standard.
