Re: IP Profile question

Far better, but totally cock-eyed.

Earlier you had a connection speed of 9452kbps, which the IP Profile has now caught up with giving you 8000kbps.

However, your connection speed there is shown as 8804kbps, which only warrants a profile of 7150. That tallies with the Max Achievable Speed of 7150kbps reported. So it even looks as though that bit of the tester works from your connection speed not your profile.

So I expect by now the profile has fallen to 7150kbps, as it drops within minutes of a lower sync. Unless the profile table has been adjusted recently to remove the anachronistic 7150kbps step.

Or else the whole thing is just reporting semi-random numbers - which is unlikely but possible. What is becoming more uncertain is which figures are correct!

Hmm , it hasn't changed yet -
taken at 12.44 -

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.

Download Speed
7827 Kbps

0 Kbps 7150 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed

Download speedachieved during the test was - 7827 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1000-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8804 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 888 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 8000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 14.16:21.8:64.05 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.

The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.

7150 is full tilt IP rate for 8128 ATM rate so I doubt it will be removed while G.dmt is around with an 8128 limit.

MaxDSL - goes as fast as it can and doesn't read the line checker first.

Great fun indeed, I expected more from my retirement , Lol.

The Hub restarted itself this morning and it's all changed again -

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.

Download Speed 7589 Kbps
0 Kbps 7150 Kbps Max Achievable Speed

Download speed achieved during the test was - 7589 Kbps

For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 1000-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :9936 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 888 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 15.61:23.4:60.98 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.

Crazy smile.

Well the correct profile for that connection speed is 8000, and the downlaod speed is within that.

So either the profile is being wrongly quoted (which seems unlikely because of the time needed for it to rise), or the profile is being ignored by the DLM.

What about this one today then ?
Download speed achieved during the test was - 7487 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 1000-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :10000 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 916 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 16.76:21.3:61.93 (SBE:NBE:PBE)

Prof. should be nearer 8000 shouldn't it ?
The line seems to be constantly changing so I guess it'll take a while.
