My Homehub is connecting at 9452 but BT speedtester shows IP profile as 5500, how can BT say my profile is 8000 ?
My best speedtest result is 5596
Ta,

If your profile was 5500 you would not get a result of 5596, as that would be impossible

If your profile was 5500 you would not get a result of 5596, as that would be impossible Not true with BT's tester on 21CN... Download speed achieved during the test was - 10483 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 1000-99999 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :11229 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1014 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 10000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 20.22:20.19:59.58 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic. Along with a lot else on 21CN, it appears to be broke.

As Bill says - the BT 21CN DLM, including the IP Profile sytem, is a mess and has been for well over a year. (Ever since it was introduced on Entanet products).
Just consider yourself lucky you are getting more than it says. Many more people are getting a fraction of what it says .

Yes it is enabled.
The highest upstream connection speed on ADSL Max is 448kbps for consumer connections and 832kbps for "business" lines. The highest download connection speed is 8128kbps.
I've never seen those mis-reported. Just several cases on ADSL2+ the same effect as you have, and lots of cases where the actual is wayyyyyyyyyy below the profile - and long before the football started.

Far better, but totally cock-eyed.
Earlier you had a connection speed of 9452kbps, which the IP Profile has now caught up with giving you 8000kbps.
However, your connection speed there is shown as 8804kbps, which only warrants a profile of 7150. That tallies with the Max Achievable Speed of 7150kbps reported. So it even looks as though that bit of the tester works from your connection speed not your profile.
So I expect by now the profile has fallen to 7150kbps, as it drops within minutes of a lower sync. Unless the profile table has been adjusted recently to remove the anachronistic 7150kbps step.
Or else the whole thing is just reporting semi-random numbers - which is unlikely but possible. What is becoming more uncertain is which figures are correct!

7150 is full tilt IP rate for 8128 ATM rate so I doubt it will be removed while G.dmt is around with an 8128 limit.

Crazy .
Well the correct profile for that connection speed is 8000, and the downlaod speed is within that.
So either the profile is being wrongly quoted (which seems unlikely because of the time needed for it to rise), or the profile is being ignored by the DLM.

Prof. should be nearer 8000 shouldn't it ?
The line seems to be constantly changing so I guess it'll take a while.
