O2 30 day cancellation problem!

[link to this post]

Signed up and when I rang was told it was 30 days from activation not sign up to cancel.

I got the dates mixed up and thought I had a week left of sub and was going to ring to get a mac anyway due to many websites refusing to load.

Was told it was ok to cancel as it was the 30th day.

Was then told I will get a returns envelope through post to return router.

This was on Friday and got a text Saturday confirming last day of broadband was that day.

Got a text today telling me payment will soon be taken from my account, rang up to be told they arent sure whats happening and I cancelled after the 30 days but as a goodwill gesture may cancel it without cost but I may still have to pay for this months sub or at least the 3 days (saturday to today) even though I didnt know I had it and am using a dongle.

Just checking rights.

Didn't you get the "3 Months Free" offer? In which case there would be nothing to pay anyway.

What's a dongle got to do with anything?

Its the access package so not elligable for the 3 months free, and I meant I was accessing the net the last 3 days with a dongle!

Rang back and got a weird reply, woman was friendly but said i would get a bill of £1.42 for the access up to the 16th but she coudlnt give a mac as account was cancelled and closed in which case if that was true then why was it active till the 16th!
