BT Guaranteed Minimum Dialup?

[link to this post]

Re: My Fax problems.

I am going to try and connect to the internet using a dialup modem, because on the line that the FAX is connected to, there seems to be a problem.

My question is, what dialup speed do BT guarantee on the line? If I cannot get a stable connection, I am going to report the fault to BT as they have procedures in place to deal with dialup problems, but not FAX.

I believe its 2.4kbps, though 28.8kbps is regarded by the USO as the minimum for Functional Internet Access its not actually guaranteed.
Look up Funtional Internet Access on Google.
