BT Service in the North West UK

[link to this post]

Hi

Im a BT business User using a 2wire router. 3 weeks ago BT mistakenly cancelled my account. Since then, I get the weirdest problems.

I get zillions of timed out pages, pressing refresh sometimes sorts this, but sometimes not. Pages with external content like adverts or videos sometimes load, but struggle picking up the remote content.

Speed test reveals 5000Kbps , and when on a site the speed is fine.

However the frustration is annoying. To top it all , i have another business 1/2 a mile away and the same thing is happening there, we have 5 staff and they are all complaining about bad connections.

BT support have been useless. And cannot find a problem

What am i to do?

I guess they reinstated it ? Do you get packet loss if you 'ping www.bbc.co.uk -t' from a command line prompt then Ctrl+C to stop it will give you a % lost figure (do that for say five minutes then terminate).

Try using OpenDNS servers on your client PCs 208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220 and see if that helps

MaxDSL - goes as fast as it can and doesn't read the line checker first.

MaxDSL diagnostics
Are your kids pirates ? Limewire, Bearshare, Kazaa, BitTorrent, eMule are all tools of the trade.
