Hi, How do I find out if my exchange supports the IPstream max premium service for business. I`m interested in the faster upload speed than 448. but my ISP says that my local exchange does not support faster than a 448 upload even tho my modem has max attainable rate of 900+ since i was changed to a business package.
My exchange only has BT wholesale and is enabled only for ADSL and ADSL max, name is MMANEA if that helps.
Thanks Bill
Some modem info from my getting old Netgear via the bt speedtest
Channel: INTR, Upstream rate = 448 Kbps, Downstream rate = 7232 Kbps
Link Power State: L0
Mode: G.DMT
Channel: Interleave
Trellis: ON

Rate (Kbps): 7232 448

If your exchange supports IP Stream (which it appears it does), you will be able to get MAX Premium.
You'll need to ask your ISP for it. However, some don't offer it which is why you could be being told that the exchange does not support it.

Thanks, I shall ask my ISP if they support ipstream. They put me on a bunisness package with upto 1 meg upload but like I said even tho my modem says it can connect at 900+ it will only connect at 448. Btw my ISP is Eclipse.

Your exchange does support IPStream. You have been on that ever since you got 448kbps upstream, so asking that question will give you a useless answer.
The question you put in your Subject is closer, but again the answer is Yes. Uno pointed you in the right direction - you need to ask Eclipse whether or not they provide 832kbps upstream on any of their Home or Business IPStream packages, and if they do - which? Make sure you tell them your exchange is not 21CN/WBC enabled.
There is a further complication - there is a chance you are now on something different. IPSC (IPStream Connect). See here for an explanation. 832kbps upload should still be available on that.

Double check with Eclipse you're not on Tiscali LLU. They have a 8M_448k profile which will mirror a standard BT 8Mb profile.
One way to test this is try and run a BT speedtest http://speedtester.bt.com/ and let us know the results.

No LLU according to samknows, but I'm beginning to think there has been no updating for some time Matt.
Perhaps you could check a couple of exchanges that gained C & W last year?

Right I have asked Eclipse if they use the 832 upload on any ipstream service guess i`ll have to wait untill monday for a reply.
Data from speedtest
Download speedachieved during the test was - 3941 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7264 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5500 Kbps
I did this yesterday and I was getting a faster download speed, I think my daughter was on youtube or something at the time of this test.
And I know I`m not on any LLU service my exchange is quite small (Less than 1000 lines in use) and I`m sure it`ll be one of the last for faster broadband.

so asking that question will give you a useless answer.
Like it wouldn't have done anyway

A few years ago, Plusnet used to offer ADSL Max Premium on their (then current) range of packages for a price premium of ~£8.00/m.
I have no idea if they still offer this upgrade.

It might be worth posting this on the Eclipse forum here (you may need to register here first) as they do monitor that forum and usually pick up on things to follow up.

Well it appears that Eclipse do not support the IPstream max premium service on there normal packages. I would have to go on an old package which is 50+vat per month to get 832 upload as they offer up to 1 meg via something which my exchange does not support and probaly won`t for some time.
So does anyone know of an ADSl service that supports IPstream Max Premium for less than 40 per month with 832 upload and 300+ Gig a month? not fussed about P2P throttleing as I don`t use it much.

Plusnet say they do the 832k option for about £8 on top of any package
Not sure what Plusnet package 300 GB would fit into though

MaxDSL - goes as fast as it can and doesn't read the line checker first.
