Comical page full of nonsense really.
Lived and worked in Canada and it's not different to the UK. Essentially it's more fake. As a result you get more awkward and demanding customers milking everything they can get. You also get your fair share of lifeless people serving you too so I don't know what criteria was used for judging here.
In the UK I prefer to go into a store, not be harassed with fake smiles and pushy sales people, look around, pick something up, pay and be done. Essentially, if the only words uttered to me the whole time are the price and perhaps thanks I'll be glad. At the same time the only words I expect to use are "thanks a lot".
I note customer services for telephony is better in Canada but then you are paying a kings ransom for the privilege. In the UK it's cheap as chips in comparison so realistically you'll have a fair chance of getting a dullard on the other end.
Basically it boils down to this. A lot of customers are idiots...so it shouldn't really be a surprise to see you're fair share of clowns on the other side of the counter.
