Trying to move house - lots of charges

So after four very happy years with Vivaciti I e-mail them to enquire about my upcoming house move.

£24.75+vat to cancel the current subscription
£48 set up fee for the new line.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit steep given they get £20 a month from me?
I knew there'd be something to pay as I'm on LLU, but close to £80 is way too much.

Any thoughts on a good fairly priced alternative? I'm thinking maybe BT?

Well that told me! Thing is I work away M-F so it's only my GF using it. So I don't need anything particulary spectacular. Just reliable and good value. Shame I have to leave my current supplier but o just feel all those charges are excessive especially for a long term customer.

What exchange is the new house on? Do you have a phone number for it at the moment? If so, put it into this checker and post the URL of the result .

The misses is arranging the phone line swap with BT. We're on the roath exchange but a little further away than we are now. Looks like I can get about 3Mbps - won't go LLU again as we're planning on buying this year. I like the look of idnet might look into them in more detail. thanks for the link.
