Returning O2 wireless box

Have to return my box

They said they had sent a jiggy bag - it didn't arrive

then they said they have sent another one - it didn't arrive

then they said to just put it in a box and write the freepost address on it - post office refused to accept this and said they needed a prepaid label for it

Eventually figured out that they had been sending it to my old address which I had moved from more than a year ago

Now they say they have sent a jiffy bag to my current address

Your O2 accessory has been sent by Royal Mail first class post. It should be with you in the next working day. You don't need to sign for it, and it should just fit through your letter box.

that was on Sunday so I don't think it will be turning up

sit it out. It's up to them to get it from you, you only have to cooperate reasonably.

You dont need it Prepaid for Freepost. The post office were wrong.

I agree with both the previous posters, but would add something very important.

Make sure you get and keep for a very long time a (free) proof of posting.

Quite often the receipt of the box at O2 fails to get noted against your account. You need the Proof of Posting to get off the hook, as O2 accept that you returned it. If it gets to that stage, make sure you send a phot-copy, not the original, or an email with a scanned attachment of it.

Can you not take it back to an O2 store ? That's where I got mine on joining ?

And include details of your account name / customer number / customer reference

Be also like you to scan and email the postage receipt to them, might be worth doing that with O2 as well.

Left be last month, post office perfectly happy to take a freepost label that I typed and printed at home (on A4 paper selotaped to the parcel). Free proof of postage cheerfully provided. Be even confirmed they got the email with the scan of the receipt and that it was accepted as closure of the return.
