Router is a loaner - and is not for your use. They send you the router that you plug in to your existing router (the only reason it is a router is that it is a cost effective way of doing it). You don't have any access to the samknows router device and don't use it for anything (other than it collecting the statistics).
You do get access to the website for your own stats that allows you to see latency, download/upload test results, etc. That is quite handy to me.
I did it more as a way of helping the community than anything I personally get. In the end it uses a bit of electricity so is a relatively small price to me to hopefully help out with an understanding of the state of UK broadband.
I almost certainly don't use over 30Gb but am using more now than I did as I have sky anytime+ and download a few movies a week off that.
