Fixed BB sync.

I'm with BT and use the Hhub , yea I know ,but I'm stuck with it fo a while.
Anyway, It seems to me that the Hub re-syncs to try for a better speed then when it gets up to about 8 meg the noise margin drops to about 2db so the Hub gradually resyncs back down until it's happy at around 6.5 mg with a noise margin of around 6, but then after a few days stability it trys again for a better speed which it can't sustain and we go around in circles again.
So I'm wondering whether BT could fix my sync speed to avoid all of this up and down and constant re-syncs.

Sounds like you have a noise problem

It's about 6.3 db on 6430 mg which is OK while it stays there but after a few days it resyncs higher but can't maintain it so it drops back - why doesn't it learn to just stay at 6 mg .

I don't think it's trying to resync to a higher speed, probably a noise spike caused it to drop.

Yea possibly, I've tried different filters , BT fitted a faceplate filter,that didn't help ,I even tried a XF-1e. - I don't have any extensions btw.

If it is a burst of noise, the filters will not help.

From what you have said, somewhere there is a short burst of noise which when combined with the existing noise on your line is enough to force the modem below its operating threshold and thus it resyncs and if that is at a time of day when the SNR is quite high then the resync will be at a higher speed.

Yea that is a possibility, I've been doing the FM radio thing and nothing shows up.

Did you try Routerstats?

Yea I tried Routerstats when I had my netgear on, that didn't show up anything unusual.
I put the hub back on because I had a usage issue with BT's online monitor.
