ADSL with no BT Pole!

Hi,

Im currently waiting for ADSL to be installed having moved into a new house however one thing struck me yeterday, there are not BT poles anywhere in my neighbourhood!

The is already a BT phone box in the house and SKY have said that they can provide ADSL, i'd just like to know how? They were unsure of the speed i will recieve however i am only 500 meters from the exchange. Do BT have cables in the ground straight from the house, i thought that was only cable.

many areas are 100% underground, especially developments built in the last 30 years

As yarwell said. You are better off with the line underground too as there is less chance of picking up noise such as MW radio.

yes...you'll see the box on the side of the house somewhere and the line will go straight into the ground to some sort of pavement box in the street...from there it'll just carry on back to the exchange but it might go overground at some point depending on how the network was built in your area.
