Re: ADSL2+ "Output Power" & decrease in speed

yarwell, it's not LLU - it's BT Wholesale WBC.

But samknows.com is so wrong right now for my telephone line: It's stating:

You are connected to the Kesgrave telephone exchange.

* ADSL is available in your area
* Your exchange is also enabled for ADSL Max services
* Your exchange is also enabled for ADSL2+ services

According to BT Wholesale, your phone line should be able to support

up to 1Mbps via ADSL
2Mbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max
2.5Mbps or greater via ADSL2+

Firmware is up to date.

Gonna see if I can borrow a friends router and see if there is any change.

In reply to a post by IceCream:
Thanks MrSaffron, have just forced the ADSL2+ mode, will let you know if it makes any difference =)
Pardon?

He said to force ADSL2, not 2+ smile.

I suspect your router isn't too happy with the ADSL2+.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - IDNet Home Starter Fibre.

I'm having the same issue. Had a very nice connection for around 3-4 months with TalkTalk (Speed test around 12-16Mb) and then all of a sudden I've had a terrible drop in speeds to around 1-1.5Mbps. I also noticed that the downstream ouput power was registering at 0 dbm! So you guys are suggesting it might be a router issue? I'm using the D-Link router provided by TalkTalk if that helps.

Stats:

Mode: ADSL2 PLUS
Type: ANNEX_A
Status: Showtime

Downstream Upstream
Rate (Kbps): 20539 kbps 999 kbps

SNR Margin (dB): 6.0 6.4
Attenuation (dB): 17.0 8.6
Output Power (dBm): 0.0 10.3

Regards and thanks smile
