Talk Talk Offer

[link to this post]

Flyer dropped out of my Sunday newspaper.
UK's best deal,Phone and Broadband £3.49 a month.
Plus £12.30 monthly line rental.
Offer ends 31th March 2011.
Now what is that old saying,: 'Come into my web, said the spider to the fly'.
Or am I being cynical and unkind?.

I don't know if you are being cynical or unkind but without the last 2 lines that would seem to very much be spam... You are advertising their deal for them on a broadband site - great way to spread the word frown

Ian...

Also thought it looked like spam or maybe on of the 'trollers' who like to denigrate TT without any personal experience of the service.

As a Moderator elsewhere I would have had reservations about this in my forum - especially with the details being quoted that way - I guess thats 3 votes for "spammy post"

It does however mark a new low ? price for broadband only services in the marketplace so of general interest.

Define "broadband only"! It does involve the line ceasing to be a "BT line" so far as any other ISP is concerned, and can therefore be a pain to move away from. It is, by definition, line rental. calls and broadband.

The fact it is the cheapest for anyone who will never use or receive calls on the landline is not germane.

I gather they have a 30 day happiness guarantee, although I've not seen any reports of this being used...

...I'm still personally dead against full LLU so Sky Talk or Talktalk haven't a chance with me.

Same here. Also I have a problem understanding how a full LLU bundle 30-day getout works re the phone. Just as messy as a normal one I imagine.

As for not seeing any reports of it being used, maybe everyone who goes there is satisfied? Or doesn't realise it is there. I fond it hard to remember anyone on these forums going to it, there have been a few, but most of their punters will be normal people who don't even realise this sort of place exists.

MoneySaving Expert, Compare.com, Which?, etc., etc.

Thought I would have another look regarding my post.
Did not ever think my post could be construed as Spam.Thought this to be an extraordinary offer, and maybe of interest to readers of the Forum and possibly a point of discussion.
Observations where made regarding my 'experience' of Talk/Talk.
My employer has two premises. Both with AOL.
His latest problem was that Talk, Talk cut off one of his premises.
Admitted it was ENTIRELY their fault, took days to rectify the problem.
I thought Broadband Chatter was 'what it said on the tin'.
Maybe this Forum is best left to the regulars!!!!, as ordinary people do not appear to have the 'required ' mindset.

There was nothing wrong with your post. The people who tried to suggest you were spamming would [censored] and moan if you gave them free money so just try to ignore them, they can't help themselves smile

I think the unfounded suspicions were aroused because it was very old news to most here, in fact the latest news is that the offer has been extended (from end Feb?) to end March; it is all over billboards at least in South Manchester and out into Cheshire; and the OP hasn't posted anything in the forums for such a long time that this thread is all that shows up for him.

I think I suggested it "may" be spam. I also said that considering the OP was cynical the post main effect was to more widely advertise an offer that the OP seemed not to be overly impressed with - that to me is giving TalkTalk free advertising.

Well i received one of those, but mine was unsolicited mail,(spam to me)as they seem to still hold my details from 2007-8 obviously acquired from tiscali, talk about keeping personal data for longer than necessary lol, but reading the small print in that leaflet was confusing to make complete sense of, imo it was a deliberate attempt to bamboozle potential customers into a least ringing there crooked sales team
And their claims that they are cheaper than bt aren't totally true either,
