Internal wiring problems

I lkive in rented accommodation, I have 5 phone sockets in the house the master is on top of an upper kitchen cabinet miles from a plug socket. the other 4 do not work at all.

the landlord has agreed to pay to sort the problem. how do I go about this? do I contact my ISP? do I contact BT? or other?

What's the problem? The four dead extensions? The master being in an odd place?

moving the master has to be via openreach

extensions by and tom dick or harry (or any female variation), however be warned regarding cowboy engineers. its not as easy as folk think it is and its dead easy to screw up

don't want no cowboys thanks, would like BT if poss but not being a BT direct customer wasn't sure if I could contact them direct or whether via ISP

You need to have whoever maintains the voice part of the service, book an Openreach engineer to visit and test and commission the extension wiring. As said, anyone else can do this, but at least if an Openreach engineer does it they can provide a guarantee card for the wiring after they have worked on it.
