Annex M downstream speed loss?

Hi guys,

A question which has popped into my head for the future - If you have a line which is short enough to get the full speed on Be Broadband (for example) and you opt for the Pro package, what would your downstream speed be lowered to?

Also, if you had a Netgear with an SNR slider, could you counteract that slower downstream speed and force it up again to achieve full download speed and full 2.5Mbps upload?

With attenuation as low as yours you should not have issues getting the advertised sync speeds both down & upstream on be* pro, as usually it's down to your attenuation which different router's will give different results, so your actual attenuation could be higher or lower than what your router is currently reporting, which is why others can only guess at what sync speeds you will see,
And yeas you can use a netgear dg834 gt g ect (broadcom chipset) with the dg team f/w so you can alter the target snr, but you can also do this in 3db steps via the user control pannel in be* member services area, also with enabling gaming mode (fastpath basically) imho opinion that line is waisted with ip data stream products it will never see max potential as they shape throttle it, and use dlm ect
