i get a 40 attenuation but im only about 2.2-2.3 km from exchange my next door neighbours router confirms this as they get a 30 attenuation and an extra 5 megs on speed compared to me lol.
When i try tell sky this they just use the well they could be connected to a different line route im like were on the same frigging pole lol. i guess my point been you cant always work the exact distance out from an attenuation,
Yes, Ash, I appreciate that. However those values are just an approximation.

As for your situation compared to that of your neighbour -- although your pairs follow the same route (being in the same cable bundle) and probably have the same number of intermediate connections between the pole top and the exchange, your pair can easily have a different attenuation value compared to that of your neighbour due to poorer quality joints, etc.

Yes TBH i always presumed it was most likely a dodgy cable its just my luck lol the odd thing is the day the line was activated it was 33.5 then about 2 days later bam 40 crazy again just my luck though.
