Access to internet before service activation

Hi All

I've asked this in the BT forum, but wanted to bring it up a level to more general question.

I am moving tomorrow and have ordered BT Infinity to be installed there. This won't happen until 1st August, which leaves me with 2 weeks no internet.

As a new customer to BT with Infinity, I can access BT OpenZone, but I fear that that will not work until my service activation. Certainly logging in with my @btinternet.com email/pass they've just sent me doesn't seem to work at the moment.

Anyone got any ideas if (1) my BT Openzone service will work before Infinity activation, and (2) any other cheap alternatives to get internet for these next 2 weeks? I don't have a dial up modem so that's not possible...

I guess I could borrow a neighbours wireless? Would/Could BT enable openzone for me before? Could use my o2 iPhone tether as an option...?

Not from my laptop though...

I got into one once, but only that one. Never since.

Do you mean any O2 mobile connection, or linked to an O2 broadband account?

Or did I do something at the time and immediately forgot? Not impossible these days !

I have a SIM only and a PAYG.
