Am very interested in speeds at peak times for the LLU service. My exchange (NEWN) has TT LLU service as well as Sky and was wondering if anyone can vouch for speeds from vivaciti. Currently with Zen on ADSLMax and peak times I am down to 2mb throughput. Have had a quick look at the Vivaciti forums and most speeds seem to be sync problems. Any comments?

Cheers Paul. Some mixed extreme reviews there. Hmmm, no recent ones.

Well, Vivaciti have always been polite and knowledgeable on forum posts I've read on the Internet and I get the impression they know what they're doing.
I just think I'm going to get on better than if I'd have gone directly to Talk Talk (the much shorter contract length, for a start).
I still haven't had my MAC code (exactly 3 days have passed now) - I think it'll be the week after next before everything's finished.

Did you consider Aquiss Paul apparently they do TT reselling too. Been looking in the Resellers forum.

No complaints here on broadband complete. Never noticed any slowdown apart from the managed protocols which were heavily restricted during peak times. Been a while since I have been on the managed service however so don't know what it is like now.
Now I'm on the unlimited/unmanaged option, runs full speed all the time.
There's been a few odd blips with latency which I have posted about but these were from the talk talk network rather than Vivaciti.

On Vivaciti Surfwise variety ie TT tails, broadband only.
No issues with peak time ( evenings and weekend ) speeds - little different from early morning.
Quick test now shows 17897 kbps download on a 21000 kbps sync.

Cheers for the feedback everyone. I'm very tempted now.

Thanks for that about Aquiss, Banger.
Wow - there's so many LLU resellers out there!
I think choosing my new provider's going to take all weekend!

And Xilo Paul but Vivaciti seems to be only one with online signup after trying the Aquiss and Xilo sites.

I can't go with Aquiss or Xilo - not available at my exchange.

Yes I get the same either their not geared up to do online checks with the TT network yet or just dont offer it.

I can only get Sky/Easynet or Talk Talk LLU at my exchange

|

That's exactly what I can get. Heck with it I'm gonna get my MAC it's only a month contract.

We are, but don't offer SMPF on those exchanges.
The MPF products are on our checker though.

After browsing through 40 pages of Google search results for '24mb broadband uk home unlimited', the only decent-looking site I can find is Freeola.
Some other sites look OK but only have the main BT line checker, which is a bit unhelpful, and other sites have a terrible design, so don't look too promising.

Freeola apparently offer unlimited downloads in the evening and all weekend - good deal if true.
They offer 40, 60 and 80GB peak allowances.

|

Cant see any SMPF offering on the site unless I missed it.

re my post at 2:41am today, I meant to write 'the only other decent-looking site I can find is Freeola'.
|
|

I can't see them providing any phone services, so would it be safe to say it's SMPF?
|
|
|
Their checker for me only indicates ADSLMax.

You're right - sorry about that.
I just assumed they were quoting the speed for the minimum broadband service and I did see the bit about 'ADSL2+ exchange activation date' but wondered why it was 'unknown'.
I'll try and find some more resellers.
Does anyone resell Sky LLU but through SMPF (not needing the phone line)?

I've searched and searched but can't find any more Talk Talk LLU resellers.
I'm definitely going to go with Vivaciti now - the only other decent option for me was Sky but that's out of the question because of our phone staying on Talk Talk.
OK, other LLU providers will probably pop up in my exchange after I've signed up to Vivaciti but I'd rather try and get faster broadband now than in 6 months time.

I'm confused. Did you press the "get it now" button?

I would be interested to hear if we have a useability issue if you have been unable to find our signup.
