GMail/ Googlemail outage

I�ve used pop3 Googlemail successfully for years. It was fine at 12.30 pm but at about 3.20 pm I found I couldn�t retrieve mail into my inbox. No setting had been changed. I can send pop3 Gogglemail and send/receive web mail but can't collect my mail.

I came across this report http://downrightnow.com/gmail but there doesn�t seem to be as much on Twitter as it suggests. Anybody else out there having problems?

EDIT: Can no longer send via smtp.

pop.gmail.com on port 995 down for me too, but I don't use it much.

I've just sent and received a test email via my gmail account - no problems.

Looking at the graph, it's up and down at the moment. The problem is obviously sporadic, otherwise there's be more reports. I'm regreting having depended upon Googlemail so much.

Well in 6 years of using it, this is the first problem I've ever encountered, so it's no big deal (yet) !

Web access is still working fine at least ?

You could end that dependence today for outgoing, and incoming very quickly . I bet they didn't even give you a free lunch.

Web access is fine here but I'm not happy to continue depending upon Googlemail.

I run a mailer polling gmail every 15 mins.
Yesterday showed nothing unusual - I expect the occasional timeout during the day - but all was as normal.
