BT & C&W Fined for Multiple Roadworks Offences

Transport for London have successfully prosecuted both BT and Cable & Wireless (C&W) over a string of "badly managed roadworks".

Offences included working without a permit, breach of permitting conditions and failure to correctly notify TfL of works taking place.

I can't see that the level of fines being imposed will be significantly impacting those companies bottom lines.

It is a pity that the residents cannot claim against TfL for their badly managed roadworks!

Recently, close to here they told their approved one set of roadworks on a major road that resulted in single flow and at the worst time 1 hour tailbacks. That was one approach to my house. Then they closed off the other main route for three days with resurfacing works. And finally, they approved the positioning of skips and a loader in another road on the only "back roads" way to here. So, almost impossible to get in or out.

Badly managed, but can anyone claim against TfL for that? Or the costs some residents had for Taxis when 5 bus routes were suspended because of the works. No.
