I've just moved to TalkTalk and they have sent me a D-Link DSL 2780.
Everything is working fine - except I can't find where to access the router stats (looking particularly for the SNR).
The obvious place would be from the router software -> advanced -> status -> Statistics.
But there is nothing behind the statistics tab (protocol unknown, type unknown, URL javascript : st.stat(); )
I have firmware V1.13 and Hardware A2.
Am I making a basic schoolboy error and looking in the wrong place or do I have a problem ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like a bug in the firmware code for the Web GUI. You shouldn't be seeing msgs like that.
You are accessing router via your browser?
Looks like it needs a re-flash of its firmware or a newer version.
EDIT: Do you mean a DSL-2740R? No 2780 listed in DLink site but a DSL-2740R that has a v 1.13 f/w and also a v 1.16 later one.

XRaySpeX -
OK, thanks for the response.
Your comment about browsers triggered a belated thought.
I use IE9 (don't laugh) and had tried every combination of compatibility mode with no luck.
I've just tried it in Firefox and guess what - I can now see all the stats.
Every picture tells a story !!
Thanks again.

Did you disable all the add-ons in IE?

Everything seems to be disabled.
I'll get in touch with TalkTalk and see if they have any bright ideas - and continue to use Firefox in the mean time.
Cheers.

It's a bit sad if TT supply a router and can't tell you which is the latest driver and where to get it.
Trouble is, ISP-supplied routers sometimes have non-standard firmwares. I don't know if that means non-standard drivers as well.
Have you tried this D-Link page?

cheers for the link, recommended that my drivers need updating but now the app wants payment before updating!
Main ones are
Atheros ar5007 wifi adapter
NVIDIA nForce 10/100/1000mps
had a google and installed on or two of them but still no luck so far

If you want to get any sense out of TT, join their Customer Forums, they have a section for broadband problems that is monitored by their OCE's - very helpful.
TT's customer services help desk told my that 3.1 Mbps was the fastest I could go - working with the OCE's I got it up to 3.9 Mbps.

Why the need for drivers for a router? It only connects by Ethernet/Network Card which will have its own drivers. Router should only need up-to-date firmware.

Yuk! I hadn't realised it wasn't a D-Link site .
XRaySpeX has a good point though! Drivers for a router? Firmware yes. Maybe that's why you couldn't find drivers, and the help guy was talking even more rubbish that I am.

.... Yuk! I hadn't realised it wasn't a D-Link site.....

For driver update collections, DriverPack Solution is pretty comprehensive, free and above all, safe.

apparently to update my adapter/network card. load of balls to be honest. no issues with all my old modems just this one

No harm in doing a legit update of those for free though.

Hi, just seen your question for first time. I am with TalkTalk and have a DSL 2780
I had some problems recently and they gave me this router to try. I dont know if this is what you did to log onto the dsl 2780, but i will give you this information for you to try anyway. To log into the router you have to enter into the browser address bar the address 192.168.1.1 with no www. Once you hit enter it will log you into the router and display a page with the Ip info but also you can select wether to look at the info for your system and/or your wireless connection. there are two passwords to enter both are the same these are ADMIN.
Hope this helps......

OK thanks for the response, but managed to resolve the problem.
Both FireFox and Chrome worked perfectly. Once I proved those 2 were ok sods law kicked in and IE9 started to respond properly.
So the problem sort of disappeared.
