WBC ADSL2+ IP Profile seems to be 'stuck' at 6.5mb HELP!!

Hi All,

I recently moved from Orange broadband (ADSL Max) where I was getting a reliable 7mb as I live very close to the exchange, to Virgin Media (WBC).

All line checkers advised that I could get between 13-19mb with an average line speed of 17mb.

However whilst the router syncs at a high rate and my snr is very low the IP Profile has never gone up from 6.5mb. I am now just out of the 10 day training period and as far as I can tell it appears to be 'stuck'. Ive included my speedtest results as well as my router stats.

Can anyone suggest why the IP Profile has never moved and why its so low compared to the speeds I should be getting? As a side note, the upload speed HAS increased and was a lot lower on ADSL Max.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 2.69 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 1.15Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 832 Kbps

Usually the download speed is a lot higher but its peak time. As a side note the upstream HAS increased since switching to WBC.

Can anyone make any suggestions?

Have you done any re-sync's since migrating? If not, please turn your router off for about 5 minutes then back on.

If you have already done this, have you raised this issue with VM?

Re your sig . Easier to delete or update it than possibly have to keep repeating it is rubbish .

Thanks for the reply, but I have never seen it suggested anywhere that turning the router off for 5mins has any effect on the IP Profile on the line. Can you explain how this can make a difference?

If the router has stayed connected permanently then it is possible that a reboot event can cause triggers in the databases and result in the new IP Profile being grabbed.

It works now and then for people whose connection is not updating its profile.
