Sky Anytime+ on any ISP

Just had my Sky Anytime+ enabled. It was available to order in my on-line basket this morning and I don't have Sky Broadband (BT FTTC). It took afew hours to activate.

They had said it would be available to all customers by Easter, a few weeks early, makes a change

Thanks for that, order placed and active straight away. Seems silly that you still have to connect to a telephone line in order to buy any content.

I've also had mine activated, my only issue is, the limited usage allownce that Plusnet provides me. 60GB just isn't going to cut it, so I will be be keeping this quiet from the wife. I think many ISP are going to seriously have to look at unlimited accounts as we begin to see more and more ondemand content. I can't swap providers as most of them won't issue static IP addresses.

Given that BT Wholesale charges on a percentile basis for peak bandwidth used, then unlimited is not going to happen at current price points.

Economics are very different on LLU, and this is also why any IPStream/WBC service that is unlimited ends up with horrendous contention at peak times.

It is a case of weighing up the cheapness of VoD IPTV content, versus buying physical media, and using savings on one to pay for the consumption habit on another. Or do as I do, one business line with static IP and IPv6, then another unlimited pure consumer service for the xbox/TV
