Using Orange Brightbox with another internet provider..

Hi, Im new to this site so not really sure im posting under the right section. Anyways Ive got an Orange Brightbox router but my internet provider is Tesco, and I was wondering if and how I can use this router with my current internet.

Thanks for any help with this.

If the router allows you to enter a different ADSL username and password then should be OK.

One of the following links (which only work on your LAN)

Should take you to a page where you can change the login details.

You don't need those links; most of which are useless.

You can get to the usual ADSL Settings on the normal Web GUI pages.

@OP: Yes, Brightbox is a normal type of router. It is not locked to Orange, just the look-and-feel is tailored for Orange, and can be used on any ISP's ADSL connection.

why do want to do that? is the tesco router not good? how is tesco broadband? any good? i am thinking to switch to tesco?

Why not? Brightbox is a good performing general purpose router.

You always have the choice of using ISP supplied one or getting/using your own.

i have the brightbox, i get internet drops a few times a week its very annoying! i haven't changed any settings though is there anything you suggest me to do?
how is tesco broadband? reliable?

Up to once-a-day discons shouldn't be a problem.

Anyway you can't ascribe that to the router; it could just as well be the connection or BT's servers.

Sometimes it disconnects 5 times a day then nothing for a week, or sometimes disconnect for an hour I am not so happy with it

Get hold of another router and see if it still does it. If not, then you can blame the BrightBox.
