Help !

Not sure if im posting in the correct place ? I have a problem with my broadband . Im not getting broadband signal , despite trying several routers and cables filters etc.
When I plug in my phone I get a dial tone, I then plug in my router and the dial tone cuts off. Is this linked to my loss of broadband ? Im with talk talk but was with Tiscali originally

Have you spoken to Talk Talk tech support? They should help if they know how to!

sounds like your router has a fault, or its cable, shorting out the line when plugged in.

Since you say you have tried a different filter, I'd suggest that you might be connecting the feed cable from the filter to the wrong port on the router. Putting it in to a LAN port rather than the ADSL in port will give the symptoms you describe. When dial tone is lost, try ringing in to your landline number from your mobile, if it gives an engaged, or answer message this would imply that the router is putting a loop fault on the line.
