PPP not dropping on DGN2000

I have a netgear dgn2000, running on 21CN and it's running great, apart from when the line re-syncs.

No matter what modulation mode I run it on, if the line drops the internet does not come back. If I go into connection status, it says the PPP is up but the clock is say '23:11:04' so it doesn't think the line has dropped.

I have to manually disconnect the PPP, click connect and then it comes back on.

Any idea what would cause this?

Checked for Netgear firmware updates?

I had this issue on my Billion 7800N, until I changed my ADSL connection settings from PPPoA to PPPoE, as well as Encap. to LLC/SNAP-BRIDGING. Then it would reconnect correctly to my ISP every time if for any reason my sync was lost and regained.

Might be an ISP thing, not sure.

I upgraded it to the latest software, which according to the release notes was supposed to cure the problem but it hasn't.

ADSL1 - resyncs fine.

2 and 2+ - I have to manually drop the PPP
