PLEASE HELP SICK TO DEATH OF SKY BROADBAND!!!!

It is worse than a heart beat monitor i am at wits end with this awful companies broadband and i cant change for 9month it is really getting on my nerves everything is set up as it should be and i am connected via Ethernet cable it started great 11Mbps Download with an awful 0.90 upload and 30MS latency now though it is beyond a joke up, down, up down lag lag lag, refresh, reload its a joke here are my current test using speedtest.com and pingtest.com, it is obvious the router settings are lying to me when it says 11mbps and 1mbps upload such bull [censored].

It's not lying to you.. that is the rate the router is connected to the exchange at.

Have you checked to see if your exchange is one on Sky's congested list? I believe this is on their forum.

Plusnet's exchange status checker indicates there could be slower throughput at certain times due to congestion at the exchange:-

See what data you get for your connection from the BT performance tester, if you connect to the TEST socket within the master BT socket that would be better still.

Have you noticed if the throughput speed gets worse at certain times of the day?

I'd assume he was on LLU as he reported 11Mb sync and the exchange has Sky... if so, the VP status isn't completely relevant to his service as that is based on BT data.

The DT won't also work on his connection and the OP would have to use the beta speedtest.

Its like this a lot recently i have to keep rebooting in the router settings and by the router itself which does not do much, it is always up and down seems very unstable alot of the time.

can you post your attenuation and noise margin from the router?

what have sky said regarding the issue?

It would do no harm to ask if they have implemented low "Early Termination Charges" like BT, TalkTalk and Virgin have. See this 2010 OfCom document.

Their T & Cs do say

The early termination charge will not be more than the charges you would have paid for your chosen Product for the remainder of the minimum term less any costs we save, including the cost of no longer providing you with Sky Broadband

which looks like a clumsily-worded version of the second paragraph in the OfCom document. I think it unlikely it means that you pay what's outstanding plus more, rather than less. I believe the words "no longer" shouldn't be there, which would then tie in with OfCom.

When I signed up to Plusnet Value Fibre I was told, (without having asked), that if I cancelled within the 18 month contract it would be £4 per remaining month, not the £16.49 I pay for the service. Phone line is with BT.
