Hello, I know some might think of me as Victor Meldrew incarnate, but some posts on here really grate. Why the the confrontational "So OK" at the start of a post, or the complete lack of please and thank you in the content?
That, coupled with no full stops, no commas and bizarre text talk make some posts pretty difficult.
No one necessarily expects grammatical perfection but, people on here try to help others - so why should some behave like text-mad 12 year olds, with no manners to boot?
Oh well, that's my moan for the day!

I think the answer is two-fold. Firstly, people aren't necessarily as articulate at writing as speaking - and even if they are they don't necessarily spend the same time on a forum post as they would crafting a letter.
The 2nd is that a number of people are going to be doing quick posts and don't necessarily consider how a post may come across to others.

don't necessarily consider how a post may come across to others. Well, they should if they are expecting help from their audience.

Well, I understand your reply - but If their need is great, then a little effort and courtesy "should" reasonably be expected. I look at the regular posters on here and very rarely see offhand, cak posts ( OK some, but often tongue in cheek)

Thank you! I know I sound a miserable git - but I'm not.

Why the the confrontational "So OK" at the start of a post, or the complete lack of please and thank you in the content? I can't say I've noticed any particularly bad posts on here. I've generally found the TBB forums to be polite and friendly with only a few exceptions.
If you want to see rude you should try the DigitalSpy General Discussion forum. That's somewhere that faint hearts should avoid

Thank you! I know I sound a miserable git - but I'm not. I probably do sometimes but I'm proud of it. Mr. Meldrew is a hero of mine. I still have my hair and I'm not as unlucky but his general opinion that the world is ruined by inconsiderate fools seems about spot on to me

Ha, you're right, Andrue.
However, my hair has long since gone, and my "dickyy tickerrr" prevents me from visiting the DigitalSpy forum: thanks for the timely warning, otherwise my clogs would probably have been popped rather early!
Chhers, Les.
