Weak Wi-Fi signal

I have a Netgear DGN2200/N300 modem router wired round the house to a Netgear FS605 5-port switch. What can I connect to the switch to give me Wi-Fi in this part of the house?

A Wireless Access Point (WAP).
You could use either a dedicated WAP such as this, or you could use a wireless router with DHCP disabled.

I see that there are 2 versions of the Edimax. 150mps and 300mps. My connection speed is only 6144 kbps, so would it make a difference which version I got? I am in a rural area and think myself lucky to get broadband at all, never mind superfast broadband.

Does it replace the FS605 5-port switch or plug into it.

I get 80Mbps on wifi with a 150Mbps router so you'll be fine

Even wireless g would be fine

The link was only intended as an example, not a specific recommendation.
The model linked to could replace the current switch, or plug into it.
Here's and example of a simple WAP that will plug into the existing switch.

Or an Apple Airport Express if the OP uses apple i-stuff
