That's exactly what it was, sorry if it wasn't terribly clear.

Is the speed test being run wired or wireless to the router? For valid results regarding the TT service it has to be wired, as wireless is subject to all sorts of fluctuations.

Does the speed vary hugely depending on the time of day?

Do you make sure nothing else is using the internet when you run the speed test?

If you are normally running a PC wirelessly, you need to check what actual wireless connection speed it shows in the wireless status when things are good and when they are bad. That can vary a lot. It is quite rare to see the full 54Mbps signal.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.0/14.9Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

we aren't necessarily familiar with the layout of the TT speed tester.

Do you get the same result at say 7am, and the same via a wired or wireless connection ?

The router is wired into the PC. I've yet to try it at another time, will do.
