BT Homehub works on Talk Talk LLU line

I used a Homehub 2 for a second opinion on a flappy line the other day, just to check the stability and the sync. I was slightly surprised when all the lights came up blue and it got an IP address and everything despite having an @btbroadband.com address in its PPPoA settings. It's still in place doing the job pending a new router arriving.

Might help someone sometime.

Had noticed when testing that the BT Wholesale test login was working ..... can understand that they *might* have done this to allow basic PPP checking. It's been this way for a while, long enough for me to have received a brief to that end, I haven't.

I wonder if they're just accepting any login - they know it's your line after all so it is a bit redundant if the PPP session terminates on the DSLAM.

Does the hub 3 work on TalkTalk?

I need to replace the dodgy router that my mum has as no wifi coverage in bedroom but her hub 3 was excellent!

Please can someone provide steps to make it work.

Don't fancy unlocking the hub.

if it helps its a type A
I also have a hub 2. (Not sure what type but will look later, when I can get my hands on it)

just plug it in and it works - that was my experience.

The "unique feature" enabling this is that T-T LLU appears not to care what username and password is used hence the hub's defaults work.

So plug it in and try it.

Are all talktalk lines LLU? My mum only has the essentials package

no, but most are LLU. If she's paying a few quid over the line rental it'll be LLU. Non-LLU is probably over £30 a month with line rental.

She pays around £29 per month but thats with Paper Billing (£2) So around £6.50 essentials package. £14.50 line rental + £5 anytime calls and £1.90 paper billing = £26 all together and so £27.50 alltogether with PB

Also (Exchange ; NEWHP) has LLU Services
