What is the failure rate for ADSL x / FTTC

Anyone have any failure rate stats for the BT / LLU ADSL type services and also the same for FTTC services.

The company I work for uses various technology to connect outbases, but will not use ADSL type services because they a) do not have any service levels and b) are seen as more likely to fail.

Can anyone point me to a source that explains the uptime for these types of service.

I do not recall having seen an uptime metrics for

ADSL
LLU
FTTC

at all.

By the way FTTC and LLU services have the same level of service levels as ADSL, just that you have to pay extra for things like a 4 hour reponse, or 8 hour response.

Assuming we have a BT adsl service, what is the name of the 4hr / 8hr service option? so I can google it

I don't have any reliability data, most of the reliability issues are with the phone line itself, I think it would be wrong to say that ADSL has a much higher failure rate than the phone line though obviously there are more things to go wrong just like there are with dialup etc. My DSL experience has been similar to ISDN in terms of reliability.

BT currently offers Business users 24 hour support by phone which will hopefully sort out network related issues. Business ADSL?VDSL also has NBD on site as standard (which, I believe, includes Saturday AM).

The missing piece is the copper pair - and businesses can get rapid support for that too, but at a price.
